Skateboarders in the Denver-metro area are taking over the skate park at Redstone Park Saturday, September 17 at 11 a.m. Skaters of all ages and abilities will compete in the Highlands Ranch Metro District’s skateboard competition – Ruler of the Railzz.
A competitive skateboard event, Ruler of the Railzz is open to all ages and abilities. Six skateboarding divisions allow participants to select the division to compete in that matches their interest and ability.
Divisions include:
- · Beginner
- · Intermediate Bowl
- · Intermediate Street
- · Advanced Bowl
- · Advanced Street
- · Advanced Mini Bowl
Participants can register online before the event at www.highlandsranch.org by clicking on the Recreation tab. Registration costs $15 per participant per event. The event is open to the first 15 participants per division. Pre-registration is recommended however you can register on-site the day of the event from 10:30 until 11 a.m. with cash or credit card only. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis or until the divisions are full.
Last year’s winners in each division were Caden Macleod for Beginner Skateboard, Alejandro Alsup for Intermediate Street, Adam Snyder for Intermediate Bowl and Advanced Mini Bowl, Evan Tooley for Advanced Bowl and Ben Melinca for Advanced Street.
