I Heard it while walking in Highlands Ranch

A sure sign that spring is just around the corner. While walking in Toepfer Park in Highlands Ranch I heard a wood pecker drumming. Anyone with a metal chimney cap knows the drumming I mean. We all deal with “flickers” as they are called here but at 5:30 in the morning they can be quite annoying!

We love our birds here and cherish them being out back in the greenbelt. Highlands Ranch has so much wildlife! The open space and this park is between  3/4 and 1 mile walk from our home in Venneford Point. We have great choices to follow the walk ways all the way to the shopping or on 3 or four different routes.
