Littleton Realtor Explains Social Networking REALTOR-STYLE

What is wrong with that house…You know it has been on the market forever and they cannot sell it…
I had a dear friend ask me a question like that the other day about the house just up her street in Littleton. You may have asked your Realtor similar questions. My response, as I took out my smart phone to search the MLS, was “What is the street number” to which I got “I dunno”. As there are over 300 units on that street and there are 19 in the MLS today I would probably not get the right answer but I was ready if she had the address.
In the old days before “social networking” (You can connect with me today at Facebook, LinkedIN, Twitter and even YouTube) we carried a multilist book…it had all the listings that were active, and it was a dual volume thing as thick as a phone book. We had listings from Denver, Centennial, Englewood, Aurora; it was all in these 2 massive volumes published once a week. If you did not get your “books” that week you were in trouble.
Before that Realtors had social networking time…we met for the “Board Breakfast” or a “marketing meeting” face to face every week and swapped 5.5 by 8.5 information sheets on our new “LITTLETON LISTING” with other agents there. We would take their sheets from their “DENVER PUFF” and put it in our own binder, and we would sort them in our own way. This is how the cooperation amongst Realtors really got legs, and we got to see and meet each other so we could say we knew the other guy on the deal.
